If one talks about the holy pilgrimage sites to visit in India, Kedarnath will surely make the list!
A holy town located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, Kedarnath makes up one of the four dhams which are located in the state of Uttarakhand.
It is situated at an altitude of around 3,586 mts and the river Mandakini flows beneath it, making for a surreal view amidst the Garhwal ranges of the Himalayas.
The views from Kedarnath are some of the best views of the Himalayan range you will get, along with blooming rhododendrons, vast landscapes and green forests.
Along with Kedarnath, we also take you to Chopta, which is the hub of many trekking spots. We will take you to Deoriatal, which is a high altitude lake which is 4kms hike from Chopta.

The group assembles at the pickup point by 8 pm.
We'll meet the team captains and a small tour briefing would also be provided.
After which, we’ll head out on an overnight journey to Sonprayag.
The pickup point would be Akshardham Metro Station.

We will head for Sonprayag via Haridwar.
Dinner would be served in the evening

After breakfast, we will head for Kedarnath from Gaurikund by Trek.

What is it like to visit Kedarnath?
The trek itself is full of natural beauty and at Kedarnath, one couldn’t describe the view of the temple and its backdrop. To explore Kedarnath, one has to must visit Bhauravnath Temple situated near the temple at a hill. A good DSLR will add beauty to the experience.
How is the Kedarnath Trek for senior citizens?
The trek is medium steep at some points and adequate fitness is advise to pilgrims visiting Kedarnath. For senior citizens and children, there are facilities of Kandi, Palki and Mules. Proper facilities of drinking water and small shops are there in the trek route. Also there is helicopter service from Phata and other helipad to Kedarnath.
Is there any specific time to start trek in the morning? Are pilgrims are allowed to trek down anytime?
As Kedarnath trek is situated in Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, pilgrims are not allowed to trek any time. In the morning trek starts from Gaurikund at 04:00 am and stop at 01:30 pm. No pilgrims is allowed to leave after this specific time.
What is the Best Time to Go to Kedarnath?
Being situated at a high altitude on top of a hillock this ancient shiva temple is the perfect for a visit during the months of May and June. This is the time when the weather is clear and the temperature is bearable as compared to the rest of the inhospitable months. Keep in mind that this is peak tourism months in kedarnath so make sure all your bookings are conformed beforehand.

What are the Road Conditions in Kedarnath?
The government of Uttarakhand has developed some of the best and smooth-running roads headed to Kedarnath from Haridwar or Rishikesh. The roads are prone to landslides and flash flood situations during the monsoon season but otherwise they are very well maintained up till Gaurikund. It allows you the perfect opportunity for you to self-drive your car as well if you are good and well versed with driving on hilly terrains.
