Overview
Dharamshala, formerly known as Bhagsu, is a city and a municipal council in Himachal Pradesh.
Dharamshala is a Hindi word, which loosely translates to “spiritual dwelling”. In common Hindi usage, the word dharamshala refers to a shelter or rest house for spiritual pilgrims. Traditionally, such dharamshalas (pilgrims' rest houses) were commonly constructed near pilgrimage destinations (often in remote areas) to give visitors a place to sleep for the night. When the first permanent settlement was created in the place now called Dharamshala, there was one such pilgrims' rest house on the site, and the settlement took its name from that dharamshala.
The Dalai Lama's residence in McleodGanj and the headquarters of Central Tibetian Admininstration (the Tibetan government in exile) are in Dharamshala.
In the year 1960, Dharamshala became a temporary headquarters to the Noble Laureate His Holiness the 'Dalai Lama'. Now, Dharamshala is internationally acclaimed as ‘The Little Lhasa in India’. With a number of Tibetan settlements and the residence of the 'Dalai Lama', Dharamshala has truly become ‘the land of the lamas’.

Enjoy a road-trip by the valleys to arrive at Dharmshala.
Arrive in Delhi and reach the Kashmiri Gate ISBT or Majnu ka Tila by 6 pm, and board the AC Volvo from Delhi to Dharamshala at 6:30 pm. The overnight journey would be for 9 to 10 hours and you will reach Dharamshala around 7 in the morning. Witness the beautiful sunrise in the mountains on the way.

Explore the city with all its charm.
After arrival at Dharamshala, check-in to the hotel of Kumar Residency. Post resting for a while, kick-start your holiday with a healthy breakfast and then embark on your journey to explore the city. Visit the St. John’s church, monasteries, Bhagsu Nag temple, Bhagsu waterfall and Mcleodganj. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Have a day exploring the serene tea gardens.
After breakfast at the hotel, leave for a full-day tour to Palampur. On the way, visit the Chamunda Ji Temple and the Gopalpur zoo which is rich in fauna. Visit the tea gardens at Palampur. Return to the hotel, and enjoy an overnight stay.

Depart for home after visiting the majestic hills of Kangra
Check-out from the hotel after breakfast and enjoy the tour of Kangra. Relish the charm of Kangra fort and explore the Kangra Devi temple. Later in the day, head towards Dharamshala and board your Volvo to embark on a safe return journey to Delhi.

The wind is generally cold in winters, so ur glider will not take much lift.On sunny days the paragliding can be done but it will be a short flight.
